Hello! I'm Alison
I am so excited to connect and share resources, tools ideas and perspective on leadership and life. I hope this space will provide you with inspiration to tackle the challenges and opportunities you face and that I can be a friend on your leadership journey. This is a place for me to share the things I am reading about, thinking about, and hopefully a place that provides you with fresh perspective and insight. As a leader, a mother and a firm believer in collective and community impact, I am just so thrilled to have a platform to share and grow together.
I love serving and supporting children, families and communities. As the CEO of Free 2 Teach, I am passionate about equipping public school children, classrooms, and educators with supplies and resources. I started my career in education as an elementary school teacher in New York City Public Schools with Teach for America, and before that served overseas in Eastern Africa supporting refugees and women in Kenya and Ethiopia. This experience led to my graduate work, and I earned Master’s in Education (M.S.) from Hunter College and a Master’s of Divinity (M.Div.) from Princeton Theological Seminary as well as a certificate in Forced Migration Studies from Oxford University. I live in Huntsville with my husband, David, and our four children, George, Teddy, Jack and Lucy.
